...inexplicable... are a "comedy group" according to their press. They are also "Brilliant!" according to Peter Kay. They are also four terribly charming young men with a determined view on the world, and they're not afraid to express it. We asked the questions. They kindly answered.

Do you ever regret going into comedy?

Wasn't it Edith Piaf who sang "Je ne regrette rien"? She died. Draw your own conclusions. We love doing this. There is nothing else.

What makes you want to make people laugh?

Cheese and being over-tired. (One tends to lead to the other)

Is there a routine by anyone else that you wish you'd written?

Tony Ferrino performing 'Man Sandwich', an abortive sketch in Steve Coogan's live tour The Man Who Thinks He's It, involving two five foot high slices of bread made out of foam.

Have you ever nicked anyone else's material?

We once pilfered a two by four of Axminster Carpet from the breakfast bar/conservatory of ex Spurs and Real Sociadad star Nayim. (He does a lot of DIY)

Who makes you laugh and who are your heroes?

Ronnie Barker, Leonard Rossiter, Jeffrey Hollands, Chaucer, Peter Egan, John Wells, Jo Kendall, Galloping Galaxies, Stuart Hall and Margo from Heartbeat.

Have you ever said or done anything on stage that you really regretted?

Perhaps an ill advised comment about a land mine whilst clad only in pants and thigh length football socks during a gig at Leicester City's Filbert Street stadium.

What is your favourite routine / joke that you do?

We don't want to say too much because that would give the gag away, but sufficed to say that it involves a Spitfire and a gentleman.

Is there anything that you've done that you thought was really funny but no-one laughed?

Once sat on a toad. (Just outside Trusham)

Is there anything that you wouldn't joke about?

Aids (hearing)

Are you happy with the way your career is heading and where would you like it to go?

We're building momentum, we're taking it one show at a time, it's a marathon not a modern pentathlon as you know.

Any big ambitions for the future?

Would like to beat NASA to Mars. And a scotch egg.
